Project Extend, a year-long training program for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, recently enjoyed a fabulous photoshoot day with Brand Partner Zen Hair Extensions. On Monday the 11th September, the team travelled to Zen Hair Extensions HQ in Essex, where Johnny Yip, the Managing Director of Zen Hair Extensions, kicked off the day with an engaging introduction to the ZEN hair brand, shedding light on the intricate processes that underpin the creation of their exceptional hair extensions.
Following the informative introduction, the team moved on to the meticulous planning for a photoshoot, model styling, creative composition, and makeup. The hands-on experience allowed each team member to hone their skills and discover what is required to run and manage a photoshoot. They then traveled to GFC Hairdressing Salon, where they partnered with special guest Paul Falltrick, Ambassador for Zen Hair.
The day was a huge success, with the team learning a great deal about hair extensions, social media, and photoshoots. They also had the opportunity to create some stunning images that will be used to promote Project Extend and Zen Hair Extensions.
Comments from Project Extend Team Members included:
Emma Holt: “We had such a good day with Simon, Johnny, Paul, and Becky at the Zen headquarters. Simon and Johnny made a real impact on our day by arranging a photoshoot and getting us an MUA and models. With the help of Paul and Becky in their beautiful salon, we created a shoot learning tricks and tips on how to use your phone to take photos. Being one of our last project days, it certainly ended on a high. The people we met were amazing mentors.”
Jamie Hadleigh: “Had an amazingly fun day on Monday with the Zen team and with Paul and Becky. I learned so much with regards to social media and actually how to use the camera on my phone! Everyone was so lovely! What a fun day we all had.”
Marlene Lamont: “We had a fantastic day with Simon, John, Paul, Becky, and their teams. We were so looked after from the minute we arrived, and we got a surprise photoshoot!!!! Models, make-up, artists, photography – the works!!!! We were pushed outside the box with on-the-spot creativity, and I absolutely loved it!!!! The whole day was filled with tips on social media and photography from the amazing Becky and Paul, and Simon gave us tips on fashion and using extensions for show work, which was invaluable from such outstanding talent in the hairdressing world. Thank you all so so much for a truly fabulous day, I’m so truly grateful to have been part of it.”
Stephen Dobson: “What a brilliant day learning about mixing application methods and content creation. Zen were amazing, especially providing us with a beautiful goodie bag! It was good to learn different ways of getting content to appeal to clients and get them interested in hair extensions.”
